The wildfires in California are keeping a lot of people close to home, watching over their property and trying to pick up the pieces, and that includes some entertainers that have postponed their Tampa Bay shows. Keep in mind you’ll want to hang on to your tickets that will be honored for the new dates. Here’s the shows affected.
- Steve Martin and Martin Short at Ruth Eckerd Hall were scheduled for today, and we’re waiting to hear the new date.
- Paula Poundstone at the Capitol Theatre Saturday, has been rescheduled to Friday, February 14 at 8 pm.
One surprising announcement came yesterday from the organizers of the Gasparilla Music Festival. It has been postponed for next months show that was scheduled for Feb. 14-16 at Julian B Lane Riverfront Park in Tampa They say it all comes down to money, with the storms and the financial strain of the last two years. Ticket refunds are underway.
But let’s concentrate on a fun show at the BayCare Sound Saturday night. Styx with Loverboy take the stage at 7 pm at The BayCare Sound at Coachman Park, 255 Drew St., Clearwater. Tickets start at $39.50. rutheckerdhall.com.
Here’s one to keep on the calendar. The Lightning will host an outdoor game in Tampa next season. Tampa Bay will play Boston on Sunday, Feb. 1, 2026, at Raymond James in the Stadium Series showcase event. The nighttime game will be broadcast nationally on ESPN. Very cool!
