Florida Sees Snow

Snow hits Florida Panhandle Record amounts of snow fell Tuesday in parts of north Florida. (WFTV staff)

It’s a rare sight in the Sunshine State, but parts of the Florida Panhandle had over eight inches of snow with more falling. Blizzard warnings also went up for southeast Texas and southwest Louisiana, the first for that area. For more on the record setting weather, click here. That chilly weather may keep a few people off the water this weekend, but the Gasparilla Parade of Pirates will return to take over the streets of Tampa this Saturday. For a list of events, tickets info and what areas you’ll want to avoid, check with us here. The invasion forecast is calling for a morning low of 37, and a high of 61.

It looks like the college football playoffs will return to Tampa. Reports are that Raymond James Stadium would host Tampa’s second College Football Playoff national title game, happening in 2029.
