Cold Weather Shelters

Cold weather shelters will open today due to cold weather that will be with us for the rest of the week. The 10 Tampa Bay Weather meteorologists say overnight lows will be in the upper 30′s and we’ll only make it to 60 for Wednesday and Thursday. This morning, there is a high wind advisory on the Sunshine Skyway. For a list of those shelters to share, please check here.

The last day to apply for FEMA assistance is today. If you stop in at the Disaster Recovery Centers you may enjoy more personalized assistance. Keep in mind you do have to apply for each individual storm, and you can apply online or at 800-621-3362.

It’s not over. The Tampa Bay Rays say they now want repairs to Tropicana Field done in time for Opening Day, 2026. St Pete City Council will meet Thursday to talk about this reversal from the team.

Seventeen year old Lucas Boillot retrieved the cross from the chilly waters of Spring Bayou on Monday during the Feast of the Epiphany celebration. It was his second try, and it’s said he’ll have a year of good luck.
