After a round of showers and thunderstorms today, temps in Tampa Bay will plunge into the low 40′s by morning. This same cold front will bring brisk winds and possible thunderstorms as well. The news isn’t good for Florida citrus farmers, thanks to a bad hurricane season. Citrus production may hit record lows according the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
While much of Tampa Bay has wrapped up, or is in the process of wrapping up storm debris pickup, Sarasota County is aiming toward a January end date. The county asks that you make sure to keep debris separated by household, vegetative and construction.
A tragic record was set last week, as another Florida Panther died. on the highway in Glades County. There have been a total of 32 Florida panther deaths in 2024. If you see a sick or injured animal, call the Florida Fish and Wildlife Wildlife Alert Hotline at 888-404-FWCC (3922).
