Big Cat Rescue is officially closed for good, with the land sold to developers, and all the cats now at a the Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge in Arkansas. The Citrus Park sanctuary land sold for a reported $19.5 million dollars with the proceeds funding the care of the cats at their new refuge.
For the first time ever, Tampa General Hospital let the nation in the number of transplant surgeries with 889 transplants. Those numbers came from Organ Procurement & Transplantation Network.
From the organizers of the Gasparilla Music Festival, it has been postponed. Next months show that was scheduled for Feb. 14-16 at Julian B Lane Riverfront Park in Tampa is on hold. They say it all comes down to money, with the storms and the financial strain of the last two years. Ticket refunds are underway.
