Dove Daily Update Amber Alert issued in St Petersburg, Florida, for two-year old Taylen Mosley

St Pete Police issued an Amber Alert yesterday for two-year old Taylen Mosley who is missing and could be in danger, after his mother was found dead in their Lincoln Shores apartment on 4th St North around 2:30 pm Thursday. Drought conditions in Tampa Bay are so severe, burn bans are in place for any outdoor burning. The Dove Tampa Bay Forecast from 10 Tampa Bay Weather shows dry, windy conditions with a very slight chance for rain on Saturday.

If you enjoy kayaking, or boating at Three Sisters Springs in Crystal River, you have one more day to do that. Water access to the popular spring will be shut down starting tomorrow, April 1st through November 2023. This is part of the Three Sisters Springs Canal Stabilization Project to keep the springs cleaner, and provide a healthier habitat for manatees.

There are two names that will no longer appear on the list of hurricane names. Fiona and Ian have been officially retired by the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) due to the deaths associated with the storms and the catastrophic amount of damage. The National Hurricane Center is also making changes to how they report their Tropical Weather Outlook. They will now start issuing storm reports seven days out, instead of five. News from Big Cat Rescue’s Carole Baskin on Wednesday, with the announcement that the sanctuary will be sold and all cats transferred to the accredited Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. Carole’s husband Howard send out a memo citing fewer cats at the sanctuary, and the desire to make sure donor funds were used in the most efficient manner. Turpentine Creek is already constructing new areas for the Big Cat residents.

The latest report from Florida Fish and Wildlife show amounts of red tide detected in Hillsborough, Pinellas, Manatee and Sarasota counties, ranging from low to medium concentrations. Reports of fish kills and respiratory issues have been reported. FWC will take more samples on Friday, and you can track how this may affect your plans on their site and sample map.

Keep Tampa Bay Beautiful was hard at work Tuesday and took close to 20 electric scooters out of the Hillsborough River, along with a lot of other debris during their annual river cleanup with Florida Wildlife Commission and Tampa Police Department.
